MISSION

  • i was hesitant to do a cleanse—to examine the details of my habits, and see where i can make changes. sometimes it’s scary to know the data. but now, i feel more empowered knowing what to do with that data, if it’s not where i want it to be.

the organization is founded and led by lila taff, who serves as the visionary steward and wisdom-keeper of press pause, upholding its mission, guiding its evolution, and ensuring the alignment and integrity of its offerings and community.

lila is currently the sole facilitator of offerings, teachings, trainings, and embodiment practices.

fascinated by the capacity of the body and mind to adapt and transform, lila has been deliberately studying movement and nutrition practices since, you could say, she was 16 and declared to eat a vegetarian diet from that night on.

in 2013, she became a teacher at the dailey method and began to unearth parts of herself that had been hiding. it was here that she met ti caudron—a renowned leader in health and wellness innovation and founder of vitaliti wellness nutritional programs. she enrolled in her cleanse program and what began as a ‘why not?’ adventure became an endless journey of discovery, and a new level of living. 

lila went on to do countless cleanses with vitaliti, and soon began working on the inside, as a strategic and creative director running the programs, marketing, and supporting clients.

with the knowledge and tools she’d learned under ti’s mentorship, in less than a year, she confidently made the shift from vegetarian to vegan (without going hungry or missing any particular foods). lila grew up in mississippi, where her mother taught her that everything was a vehicle for butter! so yes, she was a proud drinker of heavy whipping cream in her coffee and a collector of cheeses—until she discovered how much better she felt without dairy (she now enjoys eggs and dairy seasonally).

she continued to explore and experiment with various methods and modalities to increase her state of wellbeing. she received her 200 hour vinyasa yoga teaching certification from stephanie snyder in san francisco, and 250 hours in clinical ayurveda studies with deanna batdorff—covering the vast arena of physical and energetic health, including nutritional remedies and seasonal alignment. she is now a certified health coach via the institute of integrative nutrition

lila teaches public and private yoga classes, guides group cleanse journeys, and hosts retreats, workshops, and gatherings that invite one to press pause and realign. there are few things more fulfilling to lila than gathering people together and facilitating nourishment and self-awareness.

in addition to facilitating/guiding through wellness coaching and group experiential containers, lila is a multidisciplinary artist.

through her work, in every form, be it a photographic experience, an immersive installation, or a divinely guided movement practice, or a collaboration seeding container such as the new sunday, lila intends to illuminate the inevitability of creation, and inspire individuals to tap into their innate sense of wonder and purposeful creative ability.

as an artist, she is most at home on the open road, eager to tell a story of adventure. here, her camera is her primary tool, and it has led her to explore deeper and wider than anything, internally and externally.

as a facilitator of yoga, in addition to physical alignment, strength, and ease, she supports students in cultivating emotional awareness, tuning into their personal navigation systems, and allowing their inner guidance to lead.

everything always changes, and expansion is inevitable, so she encourage her students to dive—head first—into whatever ignites their spirits, and to throw everything they think they are into the fire (and let it burn up anything that is not really who they are).
