berry cacao smoothie
when you need nourishment immediately or if you’re going to be out and about, having a go-to smoothie that makes a complete cleanse meal can be a lifesaver. if i’m not going to be home for a meal, i will make my smoothie(s), soup, whatever i’m having, and take with me in an insulated thermos.
makes 1 16 oz serving
ingredients
8 oz non-dairy mirk
2-4 oz cold water
1 starchies portion blackberries, raspberries, or strawberries
1 protein portion vega one chocolate protein powder
1 teaspoon raw cacao powder, raw cashew or almond butter, raw cacao nibs, or soaked chia seeds—if more fat required
2 cups baby spinach/zucchini or 1 scoop green juice powder (vega one has some greens, if using another protein, add more greens)
6+ ice cubes, (if pitta is high/’running hot’)
optional mint extract (a few drops, to taste)
pinch of grey salt
instructions
blend all ingredients together, and remember to sit and ‘chew’ your smoothie, especially if you’re in a hurry!
